Deli Peng

Deli Peng, associate research director at the Research Institute of Tsinghua University in Shenzhen, specializes in the study of structural superlubricity under extreme conditions and its applications in devices. His research achieved several milestones in the field of structural superlubricity, including a maximum sliding speed of 294 m/s, a minimum friction coefficient of 10-6, and an unprecedented wear-free sliding distance of up to 100 km, and broadened the range of materials suitable for structural superlubricity. He has also developed a mechanical prototype for next-generation information storage based on structural superlubricity, which is a key project of the Institute of Superlubricity Technology.
